Construction Details: The first layer is PTFE wrapped tape. The second and third layers are PTFE coated glass braid.


Additional Information: The FEP jacket thickness ranges from 9 mils (0.2 mm) to 14 mils (0.4 mm) depending on wire gauge (AWS 22 to AWS 00). The overall thickness is 74 mils (1.9 mm) to 585 mils (14.9 mm) for the various wire gauges. This specification is currently being handled by the SAE under the specification SAE-AS22759/1.
